About gran turismo 4

Gran Turismo 4 is one of the greatest racing simulation games ever made. Dubbed “The Real Driving Simulator,” it features over 721 licensed cars from 80 manufacturers, 51 tracks from around the world, and a physics engine so detailed it still holds up more than 20 years later. With a Metacritic score of 89/100 and over 11 million copies sold worldwide, GT4 is a landmark title in gaming history.  This title is widely praised for its graphics and attention, it remains one of the most iconic entries in the Gran Turismo series.

Playing Tips for Gran Turismo 4

Start with the license tests

GT4’s career mode (GT Mode) requires you to earn driving licenses before entering most races. Don’t skip these — they teach you the actual driving lines and braking points you’ll need later.

Buy used cars early

The used car dealership refreshes regularly and often has fast cars at bargain prices. Check it frequently at the start to build your garage without burning all your credits.

Use save states wisely

AetherSX2 supports save states, which is a huge advantage for GT4’s brutal endurance races. Save before entering long events in case of crashes or interruptions.

Never skip the Nürburgring events.

The Nordschleife track in GT4 is one of the most faithfully recreated racing circuits in gaming history and is a must-experience highlight of the game.

Avoid wall riding.

Unlike older GT games, GT4 introduced barrier friction to slow down cars that scrape walls. Using walls to brake or steer will hurt your time significantly.

Minimum Requirements

Gran Turismo 4 is notably heavier on resources than most PS2 games due to its large car models, detailed tracks, and dual-layer disc format. Lower-end devices may struggle to maintain 60 FPS consistently.

Frequently Asked Questions

First, lower your internal resolution to 1x Native. Then reduce the EE Cycle Rate slightly in system settings. Make sure no other heavy apps are running in the background. GT4 is genuinely demanding , if your device is below Snapdragon 865 level, some slowdown in graphically heavy scenes is unfortunately normal.

Most USB or Bluetooth steering wheels are not natively supported on Android. You are better off using a standard Bluetooth gamepad. If you want the full wheel experience, PCSX2 on PC is a better option as it supports the Logitech Driving Force Pro and other racing wheels.
